2022 Promoting Global Ecological Civilization Construction (Erhai) Forum Speech: Science and Technology Empowerment, Bringing the Case of Ecological Civilization and Rural Revitalization Integration Development to Yunnan White Kidney Bean Industry

In order to better introduce President Xi Jinping's idea of ecological civilization to the world, and to showcase China's achievements in biodiversity conservation and deep participation in global ecological environment governance, the 2022 Forum on Advancing Global Ecological Civilization (Erhai) was held in Dali, at the foot of the beautiful Cangshan Mountain and the shore of the Erhai Sea, on the 28th and 29th of this month.
In order to better introduce President Xi Jinping's idea of ecological civilization to the world, and to showcase China's achievements in biodiversity conservation and deep participation in global ecological environment governance, the 2022 Forum on Advancing Global Ecological Civilization (Erhai) was held in Dali, at the foot of the beautiful Cangshan Mountain and the shore of the Erhai Sea, on the 28th and 29th of this month. The forum was guided by the Information Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China, and organized by the Foreign Languages Bureau of China, the People's Government of Yunnan Province and the China Public Relations Association.
With the theme of "Working Together to Build an Earth Community of Life", the Forum invited more than 300 Chinese and foreign guests, including Chinese and foreign official representatives, media, think tanks, experts and scholars in relevant fields, and youth representatives, to discuss how to strengthen cooperation in ecological civilization construction among countries around the world, and to promote the construction of the community of destiny of mankind and the global governance system. Zhong Yu, Director of Yunnan Food Industry Association Kidney Bean Industry Cluster Committee and General Manager of Yunnan Tianbao Huahua Bio-technology, was honored to be invited to participate in the "2022 Erhai Forum", and on behalf of Yunnan Kidney Bean Industry Cluster Committee, he was invited to participate in the "Ecological Conservation and Sustainable Development in Global Perspective" on the afternoon of August 28th in the Parallel Sub-forum. In the parallel sub-forum "Ecological Protection and Sustainable Development under Global Perspective", he made a keynote speech on "Technology Empowerment, Ecological Civilization and Rural Revitalization Integration and Development Cases Brought to Yunnan White Kidney Bean Industry".
In October 2021, the first Erhai Forum on Advancing Global Ecological Civilization was successfully held in Dali, Yunnan Province. The Erhai Forum is a complementary outreach activity to the major COP15 main stage diplomacy, a brand activity platform in the field of international dissemination of Xi Jinping's thought on ecological civilization, and has been positioned by the Office of the Executive Committee of COP15 of the Ministry of Ecology and the Environment as an "important legacy and significant achievement of COP15". Yunnan's unique natural ecological environment and favorable geographic location have made it one of the richest regions in the world in terms of species. Among them, white kidney beans, as a representative of Yunnan's unique green biodiversity and ecological agricultural products, feed many mountain farmers. With Dali, Lijiang and other cold and alpine mountainous areas as the main focus, white kidney bean cultivation has become a pillar industry of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization for local farmers. Yunnan's white kidney bean industry to have a better future, must take the road of green ecological, sustainable development.
In his speech, Director Zhong Yu reported some explorations of Yunnan's white kidney bean industry to build an ecological protection and sustainable development model. Through the establishment of the Yunnan Food Industry Association Kidney Bean Industry Cluster Professional Committee, it integrates and organizes all the participants in the white kidney bean industry chain in Yunnan locally and from all over the country to form a cluster spanning one, two and three industries. Through scientific and technological empowerment, improve planting yield and quality, and increase the added value of products. Through demonstration and education, educate and export green ecological and scientific cultivation methods to growers and agricultural organizations. Use limited resources to effectively combine the ecological and economic benefits of the white kidney bean industry, and realize the green, saving, recycling and high efficiency required by the construction of ecological civilization. It also expects to show Yunnan's innovative attempts to import new industries in the high-quality development of green food industry, ecological protection and sustainable development by using the case of white kidney bean industry as an entry point.
