The Congress is hosted by the Beijing Municipal People's Government and co-sponsored by China Agricultural University (CAU), the People's Government of Pinggu District of Beijing, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (BMAAR) and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

With the theme of "Food Security and Future Agriculture", this year's conference was attended by leaders of national ministries and commissions, foreign dignitaries, heads of international organizations, provincial and municipal agricultural authorities, agricultural demonstration parks, business associations, research institutions, colleges and universities, agricultural enterprises, family farms, investment and financing institutions and other related units and individuals.
