The white kidney bean is an important crop of miscellaneous grains in the middle- and high-altitude mountainous areas above 1,800 meters in Yunnan, and it is also one of the major agricultural products exported by Yunnan Province, with an annual export value of more than 100 million U.S. dollars. The white kidney bean industry has made an important contribution to the rural revitalization of Yunnan's mountainous ethnic minorities. The white kidney beans produced in many special small production areas in Yunnan grow in the highland mountainous areas with sufficient ultraviolet rays, which not only have suitable temperature and humidity, but also enjoy the natural beauty and pure air of Yunnan. Mature Yunnan white kidney beans are full of grains, warm in color, and the content of many active ingredients is several times higher than the international average.

Yunnan white kidney beans are grown in the blue areas of Kunming, Yuxi, Pu'er, Chuxiong, Dali, Lijiang, Baoshan, Lincang, Shangri-La, Nujiang and other places.
